I. Educational Objectives
We are committed to cultivate excellent mechanical engineers who can adapt to the social and economic development and are competent to the job in machine design, manufacturing, automation and other related fields of industrial production. After five years of practice in the workplace, the graduates will:
(1)To be able to systematically solve complex mechanical engineering problems by comprehensively employing the knowledge of mathematical and natural sciences, the knowledge of mechanical engineering and modern scientific tools to meet the needs of the development of modern mechanical engineering technology,
(2)To be able to undertake tasks of products development, design, manufacturing, service and management in mechanical engineering and related fields, and take into consideration of their combined effects on environment, sustainable development and society;
(3)To have a sense of social responsibility, understand and uphold moral standards, have team spirit and good communication techniques;
(4)To have global outlook, innovation consciousness and lifelong learning capability;
(5)To grow into excellent mechanical engineers, and possess competitive advantages in national defense industry, Midwestern equipment manufacturing industry, small and medium-sized enterprises.
II. Program Outcomes
(1)To do research: students will be able to apply the knowledge of mathematical and natural sciences, basic engineering knowledge and professional knowledge to solve complex problems in mechanical engineering field.
(2)To analyze problem: Students will be able to identify, express and investigate complex mechanical engineering problems to obtain valid conclusions by literature research and by employing the fundamental principles of mathematical, natural sciences and engineering science.
(3)To be capable of solution design and development: Students will be able to provide solutions for complex mechanical engineering problems, design electromechanical systems, mechanical parts and manufacturing processes for specific requirements, reflect innovation ability in design with consideration of social, healthy, safe, law, cultural and environmental factors, etc.
(4)To be able to conduct research on complex mechanical engineering problems by utilizing scientific principles and methods, including experiment design, data analysis and explanation, thus reasonable and valid conclusions will be obtained by information integration.
(5)To use modern tools: Students will be able to develop, choose and utilize proper techniques, resources, modern engineering and information technology tools to solve complex mechanical engineering problems, including prediction and simulation of the problems, and also be able to understand the limitations of these techniques and tools.
(6)To understand engineering and society: Students will be able to reasonably analyze and evaluate the effects of professional engineering applications and complex mechanical engineering problems solutions on society, health, safety, law and culture, and be able to understand their responsibilities.
(7)To be aware of environment and sustainable development: Students will be able to understand and evaluate the influences of engineering applications to complex mechanical engineering problems on environment and sustainable development.
(8)To make clear professional norms: Students will be able to develop quality of humanistic social sciences and sense of social responsibility, understand and persist in professional ethics and take responsibility in the practice of mechanical engineering.
(9)To coordinate relations of individuals and teams: Students will be able to undertake certain roles of individual, team member and person in charge in a multidisciplinary team, and to deal with crisis and emergencies.
(10)To communicate: Students will be able to communicate and exchange ideas about complex mechanical engineering problems with industry peers and the public as well as in cross-cultural background, including clear documentation, presentation, expression and response to commands, and should have global outlook.
(11)To manage project: Students will be able to understand and master the principles of engineering management and economic decision method, and utilize them in multidisciplinary environments.
(12)To have lifelong learning awareness: Students will have a sense of self-directed learning and lifelong learning and continuous learning ability as well as adoption ability to development.
(13)To practice in enterprises: Students will be able to practice mechanical engineering, and to participate in the design, manufacturing and production of mechanical and electrical products in the enterprise environment.

A bachelor degree requires 180 credits, including:
89 credits of required courses, 40credits of elective courses, 51 credits of comprehensive practice.
Extracurricular activities:7 credits of innovation and skills .
A student who achieves the total credits and extracurricular activities will be awarded an undergraduate diploma.
